Terms of Service (TOS)

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern the relationship between Our Society Learning Academy, LLC (“the School,” “we,” “our”) and the parents/guardians (“you,” “your”) who enroll their children (“Student(s)”) in our programs. By enrolling your child, you agree to the following Terms.

 

 

1. Enrollment & Admission

1.1 Admission is open to students who meet age and academic readiness requirements as determined by the School.
1.2 Enrollment is considered complete upon:

  • Submission of enrollment forms, including medical and emergency contact information.

  • Payment of required registration fees and tuition deposits.

  • Review and acceptance by School administration.
    1.3 The School reserves the right to deny admission or re-enrollment based on capacity, student needs, or disciplinary history if the School determines it cannot reasonably meet the student’s needs.

 

 

2. Tuition & Fees

2.1 Tuition rates are published annually and may vary by program or grade level.
2.2 Payments are due as outlined in the Tuition Agreement (monthly, quarterly, or annually).
2.3 Late payments may incur fees, and accounts more than 30 days delinquent may result in suspension of services.
2.4 Tuition covers academic instruction, materials, and standard activities; additional fees may apply for field trips, extracurriculars, or special programs.
2.5 Scholarships (such as Step Up for Students) must be endorsed by parents on schedule. Failure to endorse may result in tuition being billed directly to the family.

 

 

3. Attendance & Participation

3.1 Students are expected to attend regularly and arrive on time.
3.2 Parents must notify the School of absences by phone, text, or email by 8:30 AM.
3.3 More than 3 unexcused absences per term may impact academic credit.
3.4 Students are expected to participate fully in classwork, projects, and community activities unless otherwise excused by the School.

 

 

4. Academic Standards & Curriculum

4.1 The School provides a curriculum aligned with Florida’s B.E.S.T. Standards and Our Society’s specialized learning pathways (Entrepreneurial, Civics & Law, STEM).
4.2 The School reserves the right to adjust curriculum, assessments, and instructional methods.
4.3 Report cards are issued at the end of each term; transcripts are maintained in permanent student records.
4.4 Parents may request academic conferences at any time with reasonable notice.

 

 

5. Behavior & Discipline

5.1 Students are expected to conduct themselves respectfully toward peers, staff, and property.
5.2 Bullying, harassment, fighting, or unsafe behavior will not be tolerated.
5.3 Discipline may include warnings, parent conferences, suspension, or expulsion depending on severity.
5.4 Final decisions regarding discipline rest with the Executive Director and Chancellor.

 

 

6. Health & Safety

6.1 Parents must provide up-to-date immunization records or valid exemption forms as required by Florida law.
6.2 Parents must disclose any medical conditions, allergies, or medications.
6.3 In case of illness or emergency, the School may provide first aid and call emergency medical services. Parents are financially responsible for emergency medical care.
6.4 The School maintains emergency and safety protocols (fire drills, lockdowns, severe weather procedures). Students and parents are expected to comply with all policies.

 

 

7. Student Records & Privacy

7.1 The School maintains academic and personal records in accordance with FERPA and Florida DOE requirements.
7.2 Records will only be shared with parents/guardians, authorized staff, and agencies required by law.
7.3 Parents may request copies of records in writing. A processing fee may apply.

 

 

8. Technology & Media Use

8.1 Students must use School devices and internet responsibly.
8.2 Inappropriate use (cyberbullying, accessing prohibited content, hacking) may result in disciplinary action.
8.3 Parents consent to reasonable monitoring of School technology use.
8.4 Parents grant permission for the School to use photos/videos of students in marketing, social media, or publications unless a written opt-out is submitted.

 

 

9. Extracurricular Activities & Student Government

9.1 Participation in clubs, student government, and extracurricular activities is encouraged but may require maintaining good academic and behavior standing.
9.2 The School reserves the right to cancel or reschedule activities due to staffing, safety, or enrollment needs.

 

 

10. Withdrawal & Dismissal

10.1 Parents may withdraw a student at any time with written notice. Tuition obligations will follow the Tuition Agreement (pro-rated, non-refundable deposits, etc.).
10.2 The School may dismiss a student for:

  • Nonpayment of tuition.

  • Repeated violations of behavior policies.

  • Safety concerns.

  • Parent/guardian conduct deemed harmful to the School environment.

 

 

11. Liability Waiver

11.1 Parents acknowledge that participation in school activities carries inherent risks.
11.2 The School is not liable for injuries or losses except where caused by gross negligence.
11.3 Parents release and hold harmless the School, staff, and affiliates from claims arising from student participation.

 

 

12. Dispute Resolution

12.1 Parents agree to attempt informal resolution with the Executive Director before pursuing legal remedies.
12.2 Any disputes shall be resolved under Florida law, with jurisdiction in [Insert County, FL].
12.3 Mediation or arbitration may be required before litigation.

 

 

13. Amendments & Updates

13.1 The School reserves the right to amend these Terms of Service with 30 days’ notice.
13.2 Updated Terms will be provided to parents and posted on the School website.
